Testing Waterproof Mascaras! (Guest Post)

Hi everyone!

Been awhile since there’s been a guest post on my blog, i’ve missed featuring you guys here! Don’t forget to check out how you can be featured as well, right here!

Today’s post is by Lifestyle Inspired, check out this useful information about mascaras!

Ok, so lots of mascaras claim their “waterproofness”, but most of them aren’t even waterproof. I am going to test put 3 mascaras that claim that they’re waterproof, and see if they live up to that standard. I will be dipping my head in a bowl of water and firmly blinking several times after. I will rate the mascaras waterproof abilities out of 5, and let’s see who the winner will be. The mascaras I will be testing are Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara; Superdry Lash Mascara Waterproof; No. 7 Extreme Length Waterproof. DISCLAIMER: I have curled all my eyelashes with an eyelash curler before every experiment.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara:

The right side is before water, the left side is after. As you can tell, on the left side, the mascara doesn’t look as voluminous. However, There was next to no under-eye smudge which I was very impressed with. This mascara is actually very waterproof, which I was expecting from a brand like Maybelline. The mascara still held its curl from my eyelash curler, which is stunning. To be honest, I was blinking a lot to get this to make some serious under-eye smudge, however, that mascara was not moving. I give this a waterproof rating of 4/5.

Superdry Lash Mascara:

The right side is before water, the left side is after.  Oh My God, the separation of lashes has been kidnapped. After the water, my lashes didn’t look normal, they were all clumped together like a huddle of penguins. I was really disappointed about that. There was no under-eye smudge, which I guess is a plus. The lashes still kept their curl, but I still can’t get over the fact that my eyelashes clumped up like that. I rate the SuperDry Mascara: 3/5.

No.7 Extreme Length Waterproof:

The right side is before water and the left side is after. Unlike the Superdry mascara, there isn’t much separation, but you can slightly see it. I didn’t really like the mascara in the first place because it gave you no volume, well at least that didn’t change when I dunked my head in water! The worst part is the under eye smudge! It doesn’t look like it should be a waterproof mascara, even though it says it on the product itself. I am very disappointed, but to be honest, I never really expected anything anyways. I will give this a rating of 2/5.

Conclusion

Overall, I thought that the Maybelline mascara was the most water resistant, because it was, no question. I feel like it has good volume to begin with and end with. If you want a more subtle look, the Superdry is a good option. However, please do not use the No.7 Extreme Length Waterproof. There is nothing extreme about its length.

Have a Lovely Day
