Sephora Eye, Face & Lip Masks Review

Hiya!

So i picked up a few of the Sephora brand masks on my latest trip to Sephora, and I have never tried any of their masks previously! I’ve heard of many people who’ve tried them and love them, and i wanted to give them a shot!

So these are all the ones i picked up! I got 1 lip, 2 face masks and 2 eye masks.

Here’s a breakdown for each:

  1. Avocado Eye MaskThe first one i tried (literally the day i bought it, a few hours after i got home) was this avocado eye mask. Now i suffer from pretty ugly under eye bags, its genetic and I’ve been trying to use everything possible to reduce them, without makeup. I know hydration is the key, and for the past year I’ve made conscious effort to drink more water. But i figured getting an eye mask would be another try to see what it does!
So this mask is for ‘nourishing and repairing’, and the directions are all the same across all of the masks. Peel the mask from the film, apply to face for 15 mins, then remove mask and massage in any excess, don’t rinse.
As this was my first mask, i didn’t know what to expect! When i opened the little pouch, i was surprised at how wet/moist the mask actually was. Like it’s really wet….so taking off the film is super simple, it basically slides off. Then you put each under one eye for 15 mins. So i figured by the end of my 15 minutes, the masks would completely harden on my face, but these masks don’t particularly harden at all. They do stick to skin pretty okay, and peeling them off is easy. Once i peeled it off, i massaged in any excess to my skin. There wasn’t THAT much excess, but there was definitely some, and it’s easy to just massage in.
After using, i can instantly see the moisture/dewiness on my skin, but after a little time, it reduces to like a normal moisturizer use look. It’s not uncomfortable at all or itchy or anything at all. It did feel a little hot/warm halfway though my 15 min use, which i felt was a bit odd, but nothing to really worry about.
Overall-can’t say anything negative about it! 3/5 stars
  2. Rose Lip Mask– I tried this on right before bed one night, and i think that is the best time to use this! It claims to moisturize and soften, and i can say that i think it really lives up to that claim!
Again, i put it on for 15 minutes only. My issue with it: it is WAY too big for a human adult lip. Like it covered my entire lip plus the entire surrounding area! What a waste of formula!

It is again, extremely wet and filled with product, which is unnecessary, but i realize that’s true for all of their masks i guess!
The first few minutes of using it, i found it felt tight and a little warm on my upper lip and upper lip part, and i was afraid it was going to cause a bad reaction or something! But thankfully it did not!
After using- i really liked this one! My lips felt and looked not dry at all and felt very soft! The only issue is, this doesn’t last for days…lol. So it needs to be used frequently i guess, to have a longer effect.

    Overall-3.5/5 stars
  3. Algae Face Mask–so this is the first of the two face masks i tried. I did this again at night time after washing my face full of makeup from an event i attended.
Pros: covers full face, no smell, easy to peel off and use.
Cons: Too big for face again, just like the lip mask. It is not a one size fits all, its TOO big, i cant imagine anyone who has a face as big as the mask.
There is also too much product on it like all of the other masks, too wet. Once i took it off/after using, there was A LOT of product/moisture on my face, and as per the directions on the packaging, it again stated to massage in excess into face. So i did that.
Overall: It did leave me feeling fresh though, i just wish it wasn’t so big, and fit better to my true face, so that it could be used to full capacity. I do think it did clean up some of the dirt and excess on my skin, because i caused a lot of damage to my face with full makeup this weekend when i used this, so this was the perfect pick me  up-after all the makeup abuse to face. 4/5 stars
  4. Algae Eye Mask–I tried this one out at night as well, prior to sleeping. It felt pretty similar to the Avocado eye mask, they are too large again for the under eye area, they stretch around to your temples, but not terrible.
Pros: covers full face, no smell, easy to peel off and use.
Cons: don’t see any long term effects, or any real reduction in my under-eye bag areas immediately after use
Overall: same as the other eye mask really
  5. Avocado Face Mask — I used this one after i came back from my cousins wedding, because I definitely needed a face mask after all of the makeup used at the wedding. I think i liked this face mask the best out of all of them!
It didn’t feel tight, itchy or annoying at all on my skin. As with all the rest, it is too big for a standard face, but it sits fine once you stick it on your face.
After taking it off, an okay amount of moisture/residue was left on the face, which i just massaged into the skin. It was not an excessive or annoying amount, so i think this mask worked the best for my skin!

And that’s all folks! I’m sorry this is probably not the best review I’ve done. I feel like i kind of said the same stuff for most of these….

But in all honesty, that is the truth! They are all too big for your face, lips or undereye areas, and they all leave behind some product/residue on the face (some more than others) that need to be blended gently into the skin.

My favorite is definitely the Avocado face mask and the rose lip mask. I think those two actually ‘worked’ the most on me!

Let me know if you’ve used any of these yourself, or any other Sephora masks that you can recommend! I’m always on the hunt for new beauty things to try!
