Real Techniques Core Collection – Face Brush Set REVIEW!

Hi!

Been a minute since I’ve done a solid beauty related review, so here’s a treat for you!

I know i’m so late in getting these real techniques face brushes, but it’s something i’ve had my eye on for awhile now! In December, we did secret santa with my cousins and we had wishlists this year. I wrote this as one of the things i wanted, and my cousin (who had me for secret santa) was so nice to get me these as well as other things on my list as the gift!

I LOVE these brushes! Even though i’m into makeup and beauty, it’s taken me too long to get good products and brushes. For the longest time I only concentrated on my eyes, so I only got eye related products. But what’s a good looking eye, if your face doesn’t match?

I would HIGHLY recommend these to everyone! These brushes are solid for beginners or pros! I’d like to think of myself as someone in between.

So the set only comes with 4 face brushes, the orange and black base brushes. My cousin was nice enough to ALSO throw in the blush brush, because she got some sort of deal if she bought both!

So here’s what the set looks like:

Now the set only comes with the right side brushes, i put the pink blush brush on the left side, because there was an additional space for extra brushes, so I figured it’d be best to keep all RT items together!

So let’s focus on just the 4 face brushes first:

I’m going to talk about them from the furthest right to the left. I have them numbered in the below picture for you to follow along:

  1. So this brush, I actually didn’t use for awhile compared to the other 3. I felt like this brush is more of an in between/use me as you please, brush. But recently, I’ve finally found the perfect use for it! HIGHLIGHTERS! If you notice on the bristles of the brush, there’s a bit of shimmer, it’s leftover from my highlighter. I find it works perfectly for applying straight into the highlight, and dabbing in the line you want on your face. I also use it to pat my highlight in, and mix it with my blush, and I have no complaints!
  2. The second brush, as you can tell by the residue leftover, i use this along with my other concealer brushes, as a concealer brush! This works best for the little spaces and cracks and gets right in there to conceal those places! I’ve been thinking this might actually work well on the eyes too…as an eyeshadow applier? Not sure! I want to try it on my eyes and see if it works. If any of you have used it on your eye, let me know!
  3. The third brush, i use for my face. This is mainly what i use for my base and foundation. It works quite well in blending and spreading my product evenly across the face.
  4. And the last brush, I use for contouring mostly. And for blending. I find it’s the biggest/fluffiest of the 4, and so it can work best for blending and contouring!

And lastly, here’s the blush brush:

It’s HUGE! I was not expecting it to be so big! But i actually don’t mind! I use the Nars Orgasm Blush (another lovely product) and i find this brush has so much fluff and length, it’s perfect for applying blush. Sometimes i use it as just an overall face brush, at the end and run it across my whole face to like clean it up!

One of the other cool things about this RT Face kit, is it comes with the black holder the brushes are lined up in! SOO HANDY! Especially for travelling! Can’t wait to take this baby on the road now!

So to sum it up, if you don’t own these, get them! Their found at Ulta, and are pretty inexpensive, under $20! Their great quality, and SO soft, their perfect for daily use.

If any of you have used these, let me know in comments below, i’d love to hear your opinion and suggestions as well!

Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram to stay up to date on my blog!

Until next time, XOXO
